Accessibility Advisory Committee

That Amanda Dimilta be appointed as Acting Chair.

That the Committee confirm the agenda, as circulated.

That the Committee adopt the minutes of the November 7, 2019 meeting, as circulated.

1) That the Committee receive the presentation on the redevelopment review on PACE on Main; and, 2) That the Committee requests that: - The swinging doors be replaced with sliding automatic doors; - The automatic door button be relocated to the south-west side of the doors; - The material used for the manhole cover be AODA compliant; and, - The light standard be relocated to be an AODA compliant distance from the ramp.

1) That the Committee receive the presentation on the Site Plan Application review on 5676 Main Street.

WHEREAS it is mandate of the Accessibility Advisory Committee to promote accessibility and inclusion in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville through public outreach, education and special events; and WHEREAS the National AccessAbility Week is from May 31st – June 6th, 2020 and marks a national celebration and recognition of the contributions made to our country by individuals living with disabilities. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: 1) That Council approve the participation of the Accessibility Advisory Committee in National AccessAbility Week (May 31st – June 6); and 2) That Council request Corporate Communications to work in conjunction with the Accessibility Advisory Committee to post on Social Media and on various media channels and raise awareness about National AccessAbility Week.
