Council Meeting

That Council approve Item 8.1 on the Consent Agenda and adopt the recommendation contained therein.

1. That the 2024 Municipal Assumption Summary Report be received for information.

That the main motion be amended to add the following:  Understanding that residential collection will still need to occur for residents living above village businesses on Main St, be it resolved that staff be directed to assess options for garbage collection for village businesses and report back to council in Q2.

1. That the Town no longer collect recycling, garbage and green bin material for non-eligible sources effective January 1, 2026; and 2. That staff be authorized and directed to proceed as required to do all things necessary to give effect to this resolution; and 3. Understanding that residential collection will still need to occur for residents living above village businesses on Main St, be it resolved that staff be directed to assess options for garbage collection for village businesses and report back to council in Q2.

That Council read the By-laws as contained in Items 11.1 to 11.8 (inclusive) a first, second, and third time, and passed.

That Council recess into Closed Session at 1:33 p.m. to consider Items 13.1 to 13.4 (inclusive) with the following exceptions:  A proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land for municipal or local board purposes - Municipal Act, Sec. 239(2)(c)  Personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees - Municipal Act, Sec. 239(2)(b)  Labour relations or employee negotiations - Municipal Act, Sec. 239(2)(d)

1) That the Closed Meeting Minutes of January 15, 2025 be approved, as circulated.

1) That Staff proceed as directed in Closed Session.

1) That Council direct Staff to proceed as directed in Closed Session.

That Council read Confirmatory By-law 2025-016-MS a first, second and third time and passed.

That there being no further business, Council adjourned the meeting at 3:16 p.m.
